“Nothing stays the same.”
Words spoken to me by my friend, Barbara Patton. Profound words that for once in my life – I finally heard. I’ll bet you’ve ‘heard’ these words before as well. But, listen again – “nothing stays the same”. Nothing. Not relationships, health, money, jobs – not even houses or gardens.
Trip and I heard yesterday that our beloved Doberman, Windsor, may only have months to live. Shocked, I thought my heart would burst into tears. We have not faced this sort of sadness before and frankly I have no words of advice or comfort coming to me. Nothing I say or think is bringing me any relief.
“Nothing stays the same”
Today, I will enjoy my relationships, my husband and my ability to get up, stretch and walk. This day – today, I’m going to love my beloved companion, Windsor. You see, I have today and I know that nothing stays the same. So, before these moments change – let’s don’t miss one minute.
