Sometimes it's the journey and not the destination

I was all excited about my meeting in Richmond. This was the Virginia Chapter of the National Speakers Association and it was my first meeting! I couldn’t wait to get there.

On Highway 64, my mom and I were having a conversation about “young people”. She commented that “so many young people think they know everything”. It occured to me that teenagers don’t think they know everything. That isn’t the problem. It’s just that they don’t know….what they don’t know.

So, the biggest take away from the entire weekend – was not the destination –  (although I had a wonderful time, saw some old friends, met some new ones.) ….it was the journey.

Here’s the take-a-way for me.

I didn’t know I was special at all.  I didn’t know the many avenues in which God would speak to me.  I had no clue  how to “tune in” to my spiritual self and be guided by His wisdom.

We must tell our children that God created them for a divine purpose and gave them many gifts. Encourage them to try music, and poetry, cooking and horseback riding and then listen to their inner wisdom on what to pursue and what to let go.

But especially, we need to make them understand that they are enough.  They are enough for just who they are, where they are and why they are here on this earth.

On to New Mexico!
