The Calling on Your Life
Make no mistake – You have a calling on your life.
A calling is a term that I love to use because it means there is something on this earth God has chosen you to do! You have a purpose in this life, and He has given you the gifts and passion to complete your mission. You don’t get to choose your talents, and while these skills are given to you, they are yours to keep and are meant to share and to help someone else.
God has blessed you with your special gifts. He sometimes puts you in places where others cannot be, and gifts you with skills others cannot do. These gifts are to be used for His kingdom. Your gifts come to you to go through you. Share your talents and follow your passion!
Passion is a fire that burns and drives you on the path to fulfill your mission.
What would you do if they didn’t pay you to do it?
What have you always loved to do your entire life?
What did you enjoy doing as a child?
Some people are passionate about working with seniors, while others love to work with children. There are people who love animals and have a passion to work with the Humane Society. Some are passionate about ministering to abused women or children, while others work to increase AIDS awareness. There are multitudes of ways to follow your passions!
Be aware that sometimes we develop a passion from a loss we experienced in our own lives. Perhaps someone has lost a child or spouse, survived a divorce or a debilitating disease and finds him or herself passionate to reach out and help others experiencing the same desolation that they once experienced. They become a beacon to others and serve as a guide on the path to recovery.
You will find your true power and purpose when you come to know Jesus Christ. It is God’s Spirit within you that brings you joy, peace and guides you every step of the way. It is your spiritual relationship with God that will lead you to your purpose. Discover God’s calling on your life!
“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 2:14
